- Harry Kane and Romelu Lukaku have both scored 17 goals in the league this term
- Kane has missed part of the season with injury but is still a prolific striker
- Romelu Lukaku definitely needs more support from his team-mates
- The penny is beginning to drop Lukaku and he is also banging in the goals
Harry Kane has to be favourite to win the golden boot for the second season running.
Despite missing a large chunk of the season through injury, Kane is leading the scoring charts alongside Romelu Lukaku on 17 goals.
The 23-year-old has reached such a level of consistency that when he starts to go through the gears he will burst away from his challengers.
Harry Kane and Romelu Lukaku will come face-to-face on Sunday afternoon
I get the impression that Kane is a very low-maintenance player. The only encouragement he needed was for Mauricio Pochettino to give him a chance.
Dele Alli is the same and those players are invaluable. Pochettino does not have to work hard to get them in the right frame of mind.
I feel Lukaku needs more support from his managers. I have never heard as much praise heaped on a player as Lukaku has at Everton.
Kane has lead the line for Tottenham and scored a hat-trick in his last Premier League game
Unlike Kane, who broke into the Tottenham team after a number of loan spells, Lukaku has done everything in reverse.
He started at the bigger club and struggled to play at Chelsea. That can make you insecure and it is understandable if managers feel they have to remind Lukaku how good he is to get the best from him.
With Lukaku, the manager has to keep cracking the whip. You have to get him out of his comfort zone, challenge him and set him targets.

But the penny is starting to drop with Lukaku as to how talented he is. He has become more consistent this season and is looking the powerful player we have only seen glimpses of in previous years.
His next move will be very important. Lukaku may feel ready to go to a bigger club — though he knows after his spell at Chelsea that nothing beats playing.
I believe he should wait until his mid-20s before making the step up.
Lukaku has created a total of 35 chances in the Premier League this season
